ホールディングの環境（holding enviroment）

ホールディングの環境（holding enviroment）とは、イギリスの精神分析家 ウィニコットによって提唱された理論です。

アメリカ心理学会（American Psycoligical Association）の定義によると、

in the object relations theory of British psychoanalyst Donald Winnicott (1896–1971), that aspect of the mother experienced by the infant as the environment that literally—and figuratively, by demonstrating highly focused attention and concern—holds him or her comfortingly during calm states. 

とされています。

ざっくりいうと、乳幼児にとって必要な環境として示され、母親から非常に注意と関心を向けられ、慰めてもらえる穏やかな環境のことを指すそうです。
